Hi guys, love the podcast it makes history come alive for me. My dad (was a dick) and named me after Mark Antony and I was waiting to see how good a guy Antony was! So that was a disappointment. Now please Cam help Ray get it right, Antony has no h in it and you Cam get it right every time, Ray leave the h out its not Anthony it is Antony! Don’t like nit picking because you guys do an amazing job, but people always feel the need to add a h in my name, why? Rant over. What’s nextt for the podcasting duo? Maybe the life of Churchill, Ray got me hooked on the idea after his wwii podcast.
Please keep up the good work.
Regards Tony (not Thony)
Ray’s just getting him confused with this guy. http://www.bryanreesman.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/mikejackdaniels.jpg
Dear Cam and Ray,
On the first or second episode of this new series you were trying to take the amount of Octavian’s inheritance in silver and extrapolate it to a modern amount.
I thought I remembered reading once that during this period silver was more valuable than gold because of the difficulty involved with mining and refining it. If such is the case then the inheritance is far more enormous than even your calculations. Best wishes. Uptown
Oh, and shame on Cam for not knowing the origin for the term “rock and roll” Big Momma Thorton also originally performed “Hound Dog” later made famous by Elvis.
If I could be so bold, play more Skyhooks. Throughout most of America they are virtually unknown but here in north Florida there is still to this day a huge cult following of the band due to several gigs they played here in the 70s and I got turned on to their music from some of those old timers.
Big Momma! It was on the tip of my tongue. And I’m shocked to learn anyone in the USA has even heard of the Skyhooks!
