The Complete Life Of Julius Caesar: (Protected Content)
Welcome to our first episode!
Think of this as a general introduction to Julius Caesar. We discuss a lot of myths and misconceptions that people might have about the man.
Once again we sincerely want to thank everyone who has been leaving reviews on iTunes, Facebook and Twitter.
The best reviews win one of our coffee mugs!
Thank you for a great opening podcast gentlemen of what I’m sure will be a fascinating series. I;m sure you’re going to hear it from the “American listeners” as Cameron put it ,but I couldn’t help noting Cameron’s comments about the historicity of the life of Jesus when he said that there were no contemporary writers who recorded his life details? Surely the gospels were just that ? accounts written by men who were there at the time with him.
Ian, thanks for the kind words about the first episode. As for the gospels, it’s a common misconception that they were written by eyewitnesses. From an historical perspective, the books are anonymous. We don’t know who the authors are. I don’t want to go into the whole story here, but I’ve written about it before (link).
Hey guys, I really wanted to let you know how excited I am to see you both working together. Mad excited actually…( that’s Canadian for VERY EXCITED ) and will be hitting REFRESH on my Iphone everyday to see if you’ve released a new episode .
(Even thou i know its set to auto download…i still have to check).
Now to all you people who haven’t realized how lucky you are to have found, or maybe even luckier still, and stumbled up one of the best Podcast combos around, you just hit Gold.
Click ” subscribe” and you’ll be set. Trust me!
( also iTunes search these two fella’s and you’ll find out they’ve been working on other amazing stuff too )
Two of my favorite Pod-casters; The Humble Ray Harris Jr. of The History of WWII Podcast Fame and The Calm and Collective Cameron Reilly of The Napoleon Bonaparte Podcast Fame… are working together to talk about…CAESAR!
KINDA BLEW MY MIND WHEN I REALIZED THIS FACT!
What else can you ask for. The first two PodCasts have been fun and informative with both parties discussing everything Caesar in lively conversation that almost feels like you’re just hanging out with friends, having a few drinks, cigars, etc and just talking.
Talking History. Talking Rome. Talking Caesar. Rock on!
Sit back and enjoy it. I know i will!
Alea iacta est
you’re humble follower,
Thanks for the love, Craig! Rock on Canadia!
You didn’t lose me, but I did find your comments unnecessary and off-topic.
Hello Craig! I just wanted to say, also, thank you for the support. Not that talking to Cameron is not, in and of itself, a good enough reason to do this. Seriously, it means more to us than you will ever know to get this feedback. So hang in there with us, don’t hesitate to give us your “take” on Caesar and we’ll all take this journey together. Ending with, saying “Hi” to all of God’s Frozen people to the north of me!
Amanda, I’m glad we didn’t lose you! I disagree that it was off-topic though. I was talking about historicity – something we’ll do a lot more throughout the series. Our ability to discern fact from fiction when it comes to figures in history is important. And I often hear Christians claim there is more evidence for the life of Jesus than there is for Caesar – which is plainly nonsense. So… just putting that out there. 🙂
great to hear another podcast series is germinating. It has taken me a little while to get around to listening to the first episode and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Keep up the good work
