A quick break from the Augustus story and the usual frivolity to have one of our long-time listeners on to tell us his incredible story. Arsen Nisanyan has just graduated from the Classics department at the University of St Andrews in Scotland and has been accepted to both Oxford and Cambridge to continue his studies to become an Ancient Historian. So he’s a smart cookie.

But then his father, a political activist in Turkey, was thrown into prison for criticizing the Erdogan government. And the family’s source of income, a 200 year old hotel, was closed down by the government for dubious reasons. I hope you’ll listen to Arsen’s story and support his GoFundMe to get him to Oxford (or Cambridge). And support his father’s release. Links below.

Also on this episode, Cam has a chat with his friend Steve Sammartino, one of Australia’s leading futurists, who has released his new book – The Lessons School Forgot –  a survival manifesto for an era of Artificial Intelligence. He’s also been on a couple of Cam’s older podcast, talking about how he used a simple, foolproof strategy to become financially independent in his early 30s. (G’Day World 357, G’Day World 336).
